Never in my life have I felt as beautiful as I did when I was pregnant. Maybe it was the growing anticipation of the little one inside me or maybe some sort of hormone that we tap into only when we are pregnant. This could be why I absolutely adore photographing mothers-to-be. Remember the uproar when Vanity Fair came out with the very pregnant and unclothed Demi Moore on the cover? It was a whole different way of thinking back then even though it was in the early 90's. The department stores were still selling muumuus with huge bows around the neck during this time. Believe me I remember, this was around the time when I was pregnant with my first. I considered becoming a fashion designer even though I don't much like sewing just because the choices in the maternity section were THAT horrible. Thank you Annie Leibovitz for showing the world through your photography how beautiful pregnant women are and changing how they are viewed! Stepping off my soap box now...

Those are just beautiful! I LOVED being pregnant and having that belly. It was such a different and special time in my life and I think it is just the essence of womanhood. I think you captured the peaceful and hopeful moment in those!
